Default First Impressions

Well, I picked up my new (to me) '99 GS-R last night (Milano? red). Wow, what a great car!!!! My previous car was an '86 Porsche 944NA. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. This car is so much easier to drive: lighter, with more power. Easy car to toss around, ya know?

The 944 was an incredible looker, but I just couldn't warm up to it. Like a beautiful woman who you just don't click with. Ya like going out for a while, cuz she's so easy on the eyes, but long term just doesn't seem right. I belonged to a web group (Rennlist) where most of the folks are ready to be buried with their 944's. I tried, but I guess I just didn't fit.

So, the game plan is to fix up the GS-R, then show up at the local Porsche club autocross and kick some german bootie.

Go fast parts for these cars are way cheaper than for the P-cars, but I'm still trying to separate the serious parts from the poseur stuff. I'm gonna be relying on you guys to steer me right.....

I'll try to get some pictures up, but I don't have a digital camera, so I gotta get pics developed, then scanned. No rush, I guess, I'm planning on being with this one a while.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
