ive shipped blocks via ups
i had to tell them it was a cast iron antique footstool though.
also had to remove the pistons and head to beat the 150lb maximum weight.
weighed in around 145 or so lbs...but that was a h series, b series should be lighter by like 50 lbs or so...complete engine vs complete engine
when shipping a complete engine, i usually use yellow freight or roadway freight, both have hubs near me and both are pretty inexpensive $150 - $250 depending on how many zones away it has to go. they also let me bring the pallet to them in my mtx pickup and they take it right out the back with the hi-lo with no questions asked. i always throw the hi-lo dude $10 anyway.
once i started using freight i found it smart to cover the engine in large pieces of cardboard and then shrinkwrap it up. i got the roll of wrap at home depot for a few bucks.
