Clay Bar
tfrog,
Even though your car is new, many times since cars are transferred via rail they get brake dust and other contaminants on them in transport. Paint preparation is the key when it comes to protecting your car's finish. With any paint protection you want to apply it to the cleanest surface possible.
Granted though I'm sure your car was detailed well before you purchased it, I still would recommend claying it. You can buy a clay bar at Walmart for around $10. You can also get one in our 'deluxe kit'.
It will be well worth your time and won't be that labor intensive since your car is new. My dad bought a Nissan Titan and even though it was new, the claying actually did take contaminants off it.
Let me know if you have any more ?'s. Protecting your car from the get-go with 5 Star will be well worth it.
