now you better find out what's causing the oil light to come on. it may be the sign of a failing oil pump! it's also possible that the previous oil filter somehow failed and was restricting flow thereby reducing pressure. however, oil filters are designed to kick into bypass mode if there are any restriction problems, so yeah, get it looked into.
