you haven't looked hard enuf.
I got my HID's for $350 philips ballast/osram bulbs. ( ithink phillips bulbs look better btw...more white)
Search ebay. or if you want a warranty go to
www.hids4less.com all the Bimmer kids swear by that place and autolampsonline.com ( i think) you'll pay closer to $500, but you will never change them again or think about regular bulbs again. If you wanna really splurge do a search for a guy named see-fu. he is god.
please do things right the first time and you won't regret it.
