ya, 80mph is more like a normal cruising speed.... at that point your turning ~5035 rpm...... redline with stock tires should be about 143mph with 4.77's.
I have 4.77's in my racing only S2000....they work great! Sometimes you do get caught between gears in the turns, but that would happen with almost any gearing at different tracks.

Shorter FDs are usually nice to drive. But who drives 60mph for any distance? My drive consists of very little 60mph, a lot of 80mph... But maybe that's just my drive?
