No way. Torque + RWD will pull out of the hole alot harder than FWD and Torquesteer/Understeer. Thats probably the biggest place the M3 has an edge. Straightline speed once out of the corner, they're fairly equal and an ITR can make up time under braking and in high speed corners.
Its pretty interesting to see these differences first hand, on track between the two cars. Rather than bench racing or "i heard about... "
I would have to agree the ITR would go better into turns and exit better than a M3
