Default S2000 with 4.77 rear end gears

I drove my friends 2001 S2k, with the Ricks racing 4.77 rear end gearing.

He got the gears with some strengthening process, shims, and a speedo correcting box for $500 through a group buy.

Had a mechanic at Honda put the gears in. That car is a pure joy to drive.

It accelerates nicely from low end rpms, all the way to redline. I would def. recommend the upgrade to anyone who may be thinking about it.

The cars mods are as follows:

Comptech intake
Lightened flywheel (9lbs I believe, don't know the brand)
Rick rear end gears
OEM front lip
Yokohama A032r's

I also drove the 2004 S2k the next day. Compared to my friends 2001 S2k with the gearing, the 2004 S2k sucked in comparision. The motor didn't pull till 6.5k (vtec crossover), and then you were hit with the redline at 8100.

I found my friends S2000 to be much more fun to drive.

2004 S2k does have more looks though.

Enjoy.
