I have a 1996 GTI VR6. I had to give it to my brother because he got his 1997 Jetta GLX stolen that I bought for him :doh:

Anyways, the experience for both cars was very positive. The only problem I had with the GTI was the visor clip broke 2 times. The clutch return spring came off 2, third time they replaced the spring with a new one and that fixed it. The problem I had after warranty expired was the instrument cluster light died.

The driver side front wheel hub also had to be replaced last month. However that's with over 130K miles on the car now. Engine and tranny is still stong as ever and he has not had any other problems.
