I had a '90 Toyota Camry that I ran into the ground while I had it and the only thing that happened to it was the alternator I killed because of my system. I got it when I was 17 and sold it with both axles going out 6 months ago, but never, ever let me down. Now as for my Accord, I can't really make an honest comparison between the two because it's a 2001, but hands down 14 years from now I don't think my Accord will be in as good as shape my Camry was in. That being said, now that I have the pleasure of owning my Accord I will have a hard time driving something else.

Aftermarket wise the Accord is second only to the Civic, that is something you really want to take into consideration. Also, how well will it hold it's value? The Accord holds it's value fairly well and if you were looking at a Toyota pickup you would be in luck, but I'll bet you'll save a lot of money down the road with the Accord. Anyways this is just my two cents.

Isn't the new Scion made by Toyota? You may want to check that out as well, I think it's probably a little more sporty than the Solara but not sure what you'd be getting quality wise. Anyways good luck with the car buying.
