Alright, for those of you who are interested, I have the extremely embarrassing conclusion to this little story. Okay, so as I said I bought this car about a week ago, and I noticed that it had a little red light installed in the dash as part of a security system, but I thought nothing of it. However, there is also a little engine cut-off switch just above the hood release down by the pedals that I was very unaware of. So I guess I must have kicked it into the "off" position getting out of the car.

h: Unfortunately, this did cost me a little bit because I had the mechanic that does the security and maintanence vehicles here at school take a look at it, and he did a diagnostic of the starter motor and some other things before finding the switch after he saw the little red light. So I paid him $25 for his time, which is little compared to the money I was ready to shell-out for a new alternator or starter motor. Still a lot for flipping a switch though... I'll consider it an expensive lesson.

Thanks for all your help everyone.
