Hello all. I have happily had my 1994 Integra LS for about a year now, and am researching the possibility of getting either a GSR, or a Type-R. I am aware of the many swaps/bolt-on procedures to produce more power from the LS, but I am just asking about the GSR for now.
How much can I expect to spend, here on the east coast, for a lower-mileage, 1998-99 GSR? I know the KBB value is 8500-9500, is this pretty accurate for the market right now? I will be looking to purchase in August.
The LS has been great to me, always reliable, pretty peppy, and has the best all around sporty package for the money when I bought it last year. While it still has plenty of life left in it (only 113k, dealer maintained whole life), I really do like the GSR's sportier package offering, and now that I can afford one, I'm more interested in it than ever.
Which brings up a 2nd question. Would it be worth the extra $$$ for a 97-98 Type R over the GSR? I have just begun autocrossing this summer, and plan to do more next season and so on. Is the Type-R worth the extra 5k+ or is this money better spent upgrading the suspension/handling and power on the GSR up to Type-R spec? i noticed there isn't a HUGE power difference between TR and GSR, which raises the handling question.
I am still searching through the forums for answers, so forgive me if the topic has been discussed. I'd appreciate any answers from GSR owners, or LS owners like myself, but who have had the chance to ride in the GSR/TR, which i haven't, hence this thread
Thank you.
