to say that the philippines or any other 3rd world country isnt worth fighting for because they "have nothing to offer" the US is selfish and ignorant. the US being the superpower that it is, carries a certain responsibility that not every other country can fulfill. yeah, sure, the philippines with its tiny 3rd world defense budget is backing out, but they did stay longer than other far richer european countries with billions more in defense funds did and has been one of the US's most loyal allies (WWII, korea, vietnam, the cold war, gulf, afghanistan, war on terrorism, etc.). housed US bases and its troops for almost a hundred years, half of it being a US territory/commonwealth. i dont know why they are pulling out now, but im sure they have their reasons, bs or not.
