try putting a charger on the battery and let it charge. A lot of times a bad battery can kill an alternator. By jumping it and running it on no charge the alternator had to overwork itself to keep the car running and to re-charge your battery. . if you charge the battery and it runs but then dies later on then its most likely the alternator
