Default Common ABS Failures?

ABS failures are common in the Honda Accord and the Honda Odyssey, especially during the 1995-1997 years. You will find that your ABS light will come on intermittently and then go out. Finally, the light will come on and stay on until the system is replaced. Honda has been charging owners about $1500 to replace the modulator and accumulator. Honda maintains that this is not a problem that is widespread. The Honda owners' notes show that the problem usually happens betwee n 50,000 miles and 100,000 miles. There is a buzzing associated with the system failing, too.

If I were you, I would ask Honda to replace the components at no charge to you. You can easily accumulate owner experiences by searching all the Honda sites. Some that you might try are "The Complaint Station for Honda" and "Honda" forum at Cartrackers.com. You might also try Edmund's Town Hall (though the discussions are "sanitized" if there is any mention of owner networking and you could be kicked off for gathering owner information) and RipOffReport.com. Also, go to the Honda google group sites. Honda owner car review or car survey sites are good as well.

Please let us know what happens in your case. You are far from alone!
