Default CYP Sensor

Hey-

I made a post a couple days ago that appears below as "All this week". Read it if you want all the details of what I'm into here. But, here's the pertinent issue:

I'm working on an '89 integra and the ecu gave me codes for the CYP sensor. I cleared the codes, and started working on the car (on some different stuff). Right now, I can't start the car at all. There are no codes in the ecu....my questions are:

Can the computer register codes if the car hasn't actually started? I'm thinking I may still have a problem with the CYP, but it's not showing b/c it won't start.

Can you replace the CYP on it's own, or do you have to replace the whole distributor?

Is there anything else I should be thinking of on why this thing won't start? It's back to sparking now, and fuel is getting to the cylinders. I had had the tBelt off, but I'm 99.9% sure I've got the timing right....but it won't fire. I don't know what I'm missing...do you?
