You got it. Back at the turn of the 20th century, everyone knows from their history books how deplorable labor conditions were in the U.S. The workers got fed up and formed unions. That was all great through the 1950's, untill the 1970's when unions became more powerful than the companies they worked for. That's when you had the floor sweepers making 20.00/hr and the line crew smokin doobs on the job and getting stoned when they're supposed to be checking the torque settings on the head bolts. Because of the mighty unions, their jobs were locked in and etched in stone. You could do anything short of mass murder and not have a fear of loosing your job.

And the companies have been trying to get it right ever since.
