Ok, my friend has a 97 GSR in his 95 Civic EX. I beleive the 97 GSR is OBD-II, right?

He's still running off of his stock ECU, will he need an OBD-II or OBD-I ECU?? I know the GSR ECU's are P72, buit how can you tell the year of ir and the OBD? Also will it connect fine to his stock civic harnesses?
