i personally would go the b18c1 route. you will have lots of fun with that motor. you can also go alot of different ways with it. you could just run bolt ons and being running healthy. you could step it up and go nitrous and when the time comes, feel the wrath of the turbo gods. or you could go the other way with a N/A build with different cams, rods, etc. and have a nice car. theres alot of options. where as with a b18c5 the compression is a lil high for a turbo, and a b18b1 isnt in my opinion suited to be a N/A beast. there is the b16, witch in my opinion blows serious ass or the d-series motors, which arent bad by any means, but if you got the money, b-series is the way to go. but i can not leave out the new trend of the k-series motors which i am still a little foreign to and theres also the b17 witch was a gsr motor from, i believe, 90-92, but i am unsure of those years. as far as ls/vtec goes, it is a very cool idea and can be a fun motor, it just wouldnt be my first choice. and at the bottom of the totum poll is the mini-me witch is a vtec head on a non-vtec d series block. i kind of cringe at the thought of this idea only because they do not seem very reliable or boost friendly from what i have read. so with my lil bit of ranting, i hope you find somtin useful out of what i have said
