Yup, I bought a car.

From the ad, the only issue I had with it was the ugly Sony minidisc headunit. Also it has crappy generic dealership all-season tires on it, and no floor mats.
BUT, it does have anti-lock brakes which I have been searching endlessly for and finally found. They weren't mentioned in the ad but to my surprise when I popped the hood, there was the ABS unit staring back at me.
There were a few minor issues, all of which are being fixed at no cost to me. And yes, all of this is in writing so I won't get screwed.
- Tiny hole in the top which the previous (and original) owner repaired by putting a piece of duct tape on the inside of the top, is going to be professionally sealed and patched.
- The driver's side top latch wasn't catching quite fully, so they're putting in a brand new latch.
- The previous owner was kind enough to return the factory Bose CD/cassette double-DIN headunit to the dealership, so they're popping that in place of the Sony minidisc unit. I get to keep the Sony, which I'm going to sell on ebay.
- There are a couple of minor dings so they're having a paintless dent removal guy do a once-over on the car.
I paid $12.4k and am very happy about that number. KBB suggested retail price is $15.5k and Edmunds TMV retail price is $13.2k, so I think all in all I made out pretty well. I'm picking the car up on monday once all of the work is done, and am promptly going to junk the generic tires for something nice and sticky, as well as put the Sony headunit on ebay. Pics (aside from the ones on the autotrader page) will be taken at that time, of course.
