One is operated by a cable which is a lot easier to diagnose probs with and fix... The other is quite difficult to fix and u cannot tell what's going on in your tranny because there is a bunch of fluid in between your foot and the clutch.

You said shifting mechanism, which means the part that changes the gears, which means the shifter, shift linkage, etc. which are pretty much the same on G2 and G3. The clutch is different, the shifting mechanism is the same. :a:
