Sirius has a hand in all it's tuners as well I think. All tuners may be made by a single mfg. and just sold under various names. With respect to each company/provider.

I know Alpine has a HU with an XM tuner in it, rumors have been circulating that in the Aftermarket several companies are sappose to be working on dual type tuners.

Will it happen, hard too say. I know several satellite diehards have setups in their car running headunit and plug and play combos so they can have 200 channels in the car.

When I originally got sirius at $14 per month it was commercial free and XM wasn't so it was worth 3bucks a month to be commercial free to me. Know, both are commercial free and about the same price so content should really be the way to go.
