Default 96-98 CTR Rear lip install question

I was leaving the local 7-11 and ran into another 6th gen coming in with the same rear lip that I have. I stopped him and asked him how he installed it. He showed me that the body shop used one screw in each wheel well and I asked what they used to secure the middle since there is almost no surface area to use double sided tape. He said they used some kind of black glue. Anyone heard of it before?? He also showed me where his exhaust is close to the lip and the glue wasn't sticking anymore b/c of the heat.

It was a pretty clean Civic. 96-98 body w/ a 99-00 front conversion and mugen lip. 96-98 rear lip and stock skirts. He kept the amber rear turn signals too. Lowered with Si rims, but had some camber issues. The black paint was flawless so it had to be fairly new. It was clean. Something that we all would approve of. I wish we has some CC business cards to attract more members like that.

Anyway, anyone ever heard of this black body shop adhesive he's talking about?
