tires, speedo, etc
I went to buy new tires for my 5th gen accord with stock wheels the other day. the recommended tire size for the car is 195/60/15. i was in a bit of a hurry when i was buying them, and i bought tires that were the wrong size- 195/65/15's.
here are some questions:
i know that the '195' is the width of the tire, and that the '15' is the inside wheel size, and (is this right?) that the middle number refers to the ratio of the width of the tire tothe sidewall height. so, if i have a larger middle number, or a larger ratio, that means my sidewalls should be bigger than the 60's. does that mean my tires have a larger outside circumference than the recommended ones? like, would low-pro 16's be the same rolling size as "high-profile" 15's?
if my new tires are actually larger, i should have to recalibrate my speedometer/odometer, as i would be rolling on larger wheels and the measurements won't be accurate; does anyone know how to recalibrate them? or, if not, how much it might cost at a dealer?
thanks
