In theory, if you had two cars that wieghed the same with two engines that put out a constant 170HP their performance would be equal. Even if one of the engines was running at 1000rpm and putting out 892 ft-lbs of torque while the other was running at 8000 rpm and putting out 112 ft-lbs of torque.
