as a sidebar to this thread, and to go along with anyone refering to Chrylsler/Dodge products, word from inside DC is that the next LH/Intrepid sized car will adopt the Stratus nameplate, and will be the car used in Winston Cup. This leaves a hole for a brand new compact, Civic/current-Stratus, sized car. Sounds interesting...
There are three sedans planned at DCX for dodge. Intrepid replacement (JX rear wheel drive), Stratus replacment (same class), Neon replacement (same class). They may choose to race the Stratus instead of the Intrepid; however, both the Stratus and Neon are going to be designed by both Daimler Chrysler and Mitsubishi, but will be different cars in different classes. The Stratus will get the 2.4 DOHC designed by Daimler Chrysler, Mitsubishi, and Hyundai (It's not just a Hyundai's design). And most likely a newer version of the 2.7, possibly bumped to 3.0. Who knows. Chrysler seems to be improving a lot, especially in safety. They need to get these cars right if they want to turn over a profit.
