Youn overestimate the statistics. Hormonal BC has an effective rate of about 95-99%, which actually means after a year, 1-4% of women on it
will get pregnant.
I've known two women to get pregnant while taking hormonal BC. Abstinence is the only 100% solution, but IMO, a very impractical one.
