They are loud because they have a straight midpipe design, and you'd better have the power to back the exhaust note up because people with cars that are actually fast look and listen for civics with fart pipes to pick on.

I laugh at dual tips. Might as well have a whistler tip.... WOOO-WOOOOOOO!
I've got the N1 and it is loud as hell with no cat, and no resonator coming straight off of my turbo. But it doesn't sound ricey it just sounds pissed off. I love the fact that I can sit by a v8 mustang rev and not be drowned out by the v8's exhaust.
