I used 4 and half quarts. It was one of the big bottles that has 5 quarts in one bottle. I got it because it was cheaper than buying 5 bottles of the same stuff but I guess I grabbed a different one than I thought I was. My manual said use 5W30 or 10W30 if never driving under -7 degrees F. So I went with the 10W30. I figured I'd be getting an oil change long before winter started since I'm gonna be going 1500+ miles in less than 3-4 days (makin a road trip out of my drive up to school and stopping at some friends' places along the way). I probably won't be doing my own oil change next time cause I don't have ramps (I was using my cousin's ramps and I'm too scared to get under my car with a regular jack), so hopefully the techs won't f*** up like me. zero worries dude. i've done lots of research into oils and their properties cause i'm an anal mofo. I truly believe you've actually made a good mistake. The heavier weight oil will be better for your car on that long summer drive, but when you get to MI and winter sets in switchout to 0w-30.
