LOL
Let me explain better about the theft. First off, I live in Orlando Florida, where Honda's are hot items for car club theifs (no offense to the legit ones). They saw my car sitting in front of my house, decided to steal it, and did so. However, I have an exhaust on my car, and was awake at the time, so I heard it start up and leave. I was on the phone in seconds with the police.
The theif was apparently looking for his buddy, so he kept driving around in the area, unknowing that I was on phone with the police telling them his every move (I could see or hear the car for the majority of the time that the theif was driving, pretty dumb eh?). So anyways, the cops got on his tail, and he got spooked. He pulled into a shopping center with a cop behind him, and was doing about 70 through the parking lot.
You know those concrete blocks that keep you from pulling too far forward in your parking space? Well, he hit a set of those doing about 70, and blew all 4 of my tyres. He then lost control of the car, and hit an island in the parking lot so hard that he broke the concrete crub surrounding it. Mind you, I had no tyres, so the impact was solely on the front rims. The guy got out and ran, but the cops were right with him, and he didn't make it far.
So, it ended up being 3 cracked/bent/undrivable rims, a ripped out ignition, and some damage to the front bumper. Since the stock Honda rims are about $170, and I have to replace the tyres anyways, aftermarket rims are the natural selection :P.
Great story huh? I think I got really lucky, not only that we were able to recover the car, and the theif, but that so little damage was caused to it.
I love my Honda.
