Fixing that head gasket is gonna cost more than the car is worth unless you can get some sweet deal somehow especially if the head is warped which it very well could be if shes been driving it this way for some time. She may need to look at some junked cars for parts.

How long has it been overheating for? Because the overheating may have started before the blown headgasket which means that problem still needs to be corrected.
