for instance I know if your water pump is about to go the car will feel very very sluggish.
In my old hoopty I knew my water pump was about to go when my couldnt make it to 60mph on a downhill.

I made it home at least and then the car died in my driveway. At the end the water pump needed to be replaced. Now the car just sits in my driveway as a spare car.
