Default 91 accord auto...incredibly hard to shift out of park

i've had this car about 6 months....i've noticed that it is hard to shift out of park if i let the car sit on the gear instead of the handbrake, so i got in the habit of putting it in neutral, setting the brake, letting the car sit on the brake, then putting it in park, which makes shifting out of park much easier...fast forward to last night: i was leaving work and noticed it was REALLY hard to pull the shifter out of park into reverse, and then even harder to pull that down thru neutral and into D4. i got home ok though, this morning, i go to leave and i can't get it into D4. when in park with the brake off, it rolls like its not in gear. when in reverse, it creeps forward!. i can't pull it into neutral, no matter how i try....i tried both the brake for the shift release and the key in the shifter console port

ideas?
