I have a '98 LX, is the 96-00 EX axle back size larger than the LX?

I have a mugen twin loop replica for an EX and I've had it on my LX for a while now, the mechanic that installed it said it might leak *shrugs*, but I haven't had any problems at all, passed emissions too.
