ps2 plays dvds out of the box, so that's a dumb arguement. and what does the xbox have that the ps2 doesn't?

my friends got married last christmas (day after) and ~10 of us got together and bought them an xbox. they play dvds on theirs so that they don't have to buy a separate dvd player. makes perfect sense to me.
