I apologize for bringing up the old thread, but I looked on ALL the other threads regarding this topic, and couldn't find the answer.

Are you people (who have done this) painting the outside of the tailight, or opening the inside and painting it.

Just want to make sure as I am going to be doing this DIY this weekend. i would assume the outside, just double and triple checking :-P
