You (not just you in specific, you as in the public) never know what is going on when a Cop stops you. Very often, V&T violations are used as a means to get into a car. Maybe your car matched a description of a car that they were looking for...you never know. He may have just stopped you to see if you matched a description, and when you didn't, he let you go. You don't know what was going on. But that speed over the limit was enough for him to stop you and further investigate whatever it was he was looking for. Chances are, there was more to the story than you know about. You can never assume you know the full reason why you are being stopped, because very often, there is more to it than you realize.
