Acura MDX is probably the best car for the money. It is one of those SUV you can actually enjoy taken to nice restaurants with valet parking with, regardless of its age. It is also reliable and is a charm to drive. It is as comfortable and luxurious as the upscale Lexus, so it only cost half as much.

If you want something reliable, strong, and can be driven or towing hard, you will be happy with a Pathfinder.

I'll take a MDX, Pathfinder, and Lexus over those European rides any day of the week. American SUVs are good for nothing but drinking gas while doing little work.
