the snapring is tough and the way its shaped it doesn't hold well to the pliers. i'm thinking its a two man job so my buddy's going to help, one opening the snap ring manually with screw drivers and the other lifting the housing

i figured it out after i turned the trans upside down and everything felt like it was going to come apart, except for the snapring holding it together still
