I would think to pre-spray with some bug and tar remover. Normally it takes a few mins to loosen the bugs, but then you wipe them off. Just follow the directions on the bottle and you should be good. About the turtle wax... I always heard to stay away from turtle wax. To use something like Meguires, Mother's, Mirror Glaze, or some of the other name brands. Inexpensive wax (from what I understand) is bad for your car. You could find some products that would work pretty good from Zaino Bros. wax ( http://www.zainobros.com ) But they are pretty expensive. (So is a paint job too if your paint gets ruined)
