I do the same thing even though i have a very nice quiet neighborhood, but you never know.

Does your radio has a code that if it get stolen or off a car you would need a code for it? I know some car decks have that. And you said the financial was a minimal loss? Men, to me that's a lot of money but at least you still have your car. Got my car stereo stolen before in San Francisco and my brother's integra that was parked accross the street at the same time got stolen, can you believe that sh!t The Same Time.
