Honda typically sets redline at about the same RPM as max output. You can rev higher if the ECU will allow it, but there will likely be NO benefit other than max speed of the car. Staying under redline when shifting is not a bad thing at all-it will preserve the engine a bit. Finding the right shift point for your needs is not hard.
