Are you using some sort of conversion harness to connect to the ECU? I wasn't aware there even was a pre-OBD to OBD I conversion harness. I've seen the other way around to plug a P28 into a EF car for a SOHC VTEC but not the other way around.

I'm just suprised you didn't change out the tranny from a hydro one. That would have given you an electroic speed sensor, hydro clutch and bolted right up. Did you have to fabricate some mounts to hold the tranny. I thought the cable units bolted up a little different.

From my understanding of auto/manual swaps, an automatic uses a sensor on the shifter itself to turn your lights on. On a manual, there's a sensor on the tranny itself. It's just a matter of finding the proper wire and extending it to the engine bay but I don't know the specifics (color, location, sorry). I hope it runs good for you.
