starting in 1998 all accords with auto trannies is required to use honda atf. it does say you can use other dexron III should you need to in a pinch, but should switch to honda atf asap.

whether you drive you car hard or not honda trannies blow. try a search and see how many people have blown trannies. you know honda also upgraded the warranty on 00-02 V6s to 100K cause of problems. also the first batch of 98 V6s also had some intial problems too. it's true driver is the cause of some of the problems, but there is evidence that the tranny isn't very good to begin with.
