i could be a bit off topic, but:

i've heard some companies take resumes e-mailed to them and put them in a database.

so when a job comes up they simply go into the database and search for key words related to the job, and it gives them resumes related to that field.

i've heard of some people putting a bunch of key words into the resume, and making them white, so they are invisible, but still indexed by the database, so their resume gets hits.
