It really is time to move along.
Personally (and I know I'll be dodging tomatos) is that the rise in gas prices is a good thing for society overall.
In the first place, we are running out of Near East oil. As we begin to harvest oil in other places, the oil's going to get more expensive, naturally, because of the cost of getting it here.
Moreover, the rise in gas prices might get all those dangerous SUV off the road, might begin a trend that gets our rail systems repaired and serviceable again, and might cause the federal government to finally look into replacement sources of fuel.
It's not all bad.
For whatever it's worth, I commute an hour each way, and still have to drive about 65 miles/day after I get to work.
I do close to 100 miles a day, I suppose I can relate.
Regardless of the reasons behind it, I miss three or four Summer's ago when gas was $0.98 a gallon. Cheaper than water. :wtc:
