Comptech B-Pipe Replacement...
Recently, I have heard this very annoying and quite loud buzzing sound coming from the joint where the b-pipe and the "cat" connect, it sounds at about 3200 rpm, and only at this point does it sound. It only happens after the pipes have started to warm up. I contacted Comptech and they said that this was apparently a problem they have had with their b-pipes for this model, and warranty won't cover it since it has expired. This may sound trivial but it does get very annoying especially with such an exhaust as this, that is known to be one of the best. Anyway, this is for a '98 GSR coupe. I have the comptech Tig ss 4-2-1 header, stock cat, and I want to keep the comptech mendral bend and muffler, but Comptech wants $275.00 for a new b-pipe. I have been quite pleased with their products but I was just wondering if maybe I should consider another product to replace Comptech's b-pipe, one that maybe superior in quality and performance, i.e. Spoon, T1R, SMSP. Does anyone have any experience with these b-pipes? What are your thoughts? What would you do? Any, helpful advice would be appreciated.
