FREDERICK -- Thirteen Baltimore County students were injured about 10 a.m. Wednesday when two school buses collided on New Design Road at Guilford Drive en route to a band competition at Tuscarora High School, the Frederick County Sheriff's Office said.

As a precaution, one juvenile was flown by Maryland State Police helicopter to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore for treatment of his injuries, which were not considered life-threatening, Deputy First Class Jennifer Bailey said.
Ambulances, firetrucks and police everywhere..they blocked off about 1/4 mile of road too

Twelve students were taken by ambulances to Frederick Memorial Hospital, she said.

The 66 students aboard the two buses are students at Cockeysville Middle School, police said. Their names were not released.

The wreck occurred as the buses were southbound on New Design Road. Robin James Morrison, 57, of White Hall, stopped his bus carrying 40 students at the Guilford Drive stop sign before entering the intersection, Deputy Bailey said.

However, the other bus driver, William E. St. Clair, 60, of Delta, Pa., did not stop and ran into the back of the bus driven by Mr. Morrison, deputies said.
