If you didn't have it today I'm inclined to believe it is the pressure plate.
Ex. My car's clutch gets notchy and makes squeek after long hard driving sessions, or trips home from work in the summer heat.
As my plate gets hot the fingers stick on the throwout bearing a bit, it's fine for now but I will need a new plate and likely a disc one day in the future.
My plate was prematurely worn by a bad throwout bearing, this is why I'm having signs of an ailing plate at 55k mi.
Once my car cools over night, it's gone the next day.
