Default Brake Problems

Hello all,

Just need some advice before I attempt to go to the con-artists (mechanics) and get my car fixed. My rear brakes are squealin like a mofo. I think its about time for new brake pads. I was curious if I needed to get my rotors turned while I am putting on my brakes? Also how much should it cost for my car to get the rotors turned and new brake pads installed? I got quoted 140 bucks today.

Would it be cheaper for me to go ahead and buy my own brake pads and take them to a mechanic and have them slap it on or would it be cheaper for me to just let th emechanic put it all on. I would put my brake pads on myself but I live in a crummy ass apartment complex and i dont have the tools to put on my brake pads.

Any assistance before I go deal with these mechanics would be great,
